Dining table on the Pindari balcony overlooking the green mountains of Warburton
Warburton · Victoria

Pindari.

A mountain home where the house, garden and valley give everyone room to find their own pace.

Around 90 minutes from Melbourne · close to town, river, forest and trails

Imagine your stay

Some stays stay with you.

Mornings begin with mountain air and birdsong. Days unfold through forests, trails and the river. Evenings draw everyone back to the table and the fire.

Pindari is close enough to walk into Warburton, yet high enough in the valley to feel removed from everyday life. It is a place to reconnect with nature, with the people you came with, and with the version of yourself that is not watching the clock.

P

Pindari means high ground.
A fitting name for the hillside, and for the feeling of stepping away for a while.

The Pindari experience

Your stay, at your own pace.

No fixed weekend itinerary. Just a series of moments that can stretch across two nights, three nights—or a little longer.

A long dining table set for a shared meal with the balcony and mountain view beyond
01 · Arrive

Let the stay begin before you unpack.

Leave Melbourne a little earlier. Collect something delicious on the way. Open the balcony doors while the afternoon light is still on the mountains, make the first coffee or pour the first glass, and feel the pace change.

Settle in slowly

02 · Explore

Go early. Wander further. Ride all day.

Reach the Redwoods before the crowds, walk among ancient myrtle beech at the Rainforest Gallery, follow the Birrarung through town—or spend the day discovering Warburton’s expanding mountain-bike trails.

Find your kind of adventure

03 · Gather

Come back together when the light softens.

Cook outside, open something local and let dinner continue long after the barbecue is finished. The reclaimed timber table, festoon lights and infinity-style fire pit are made for the stories that get better as the night goes on.

Stay out under the stars

04 · Stay a little longer

Give yourself one more morning.

An extra day means no choosing between the forest, the trails and Pindari itself. Walk the garden, spread a picnic at the bottom of the hill, read beside the fire—or simply make another espresso and decide later.

Who Pindari works for

Room to be together. Space to spread out.

The house is especially good at something many group stays get wrong: giving people separate spaces without losing the feeling of being away together.

Growth experience · Ride Warburton

A better ending to a big day on the trails.

Pindari is being shaped as a group base for riders: room to spread out, generous outdoor entertaining, a fire pit, easy access to town and the trails, and a dedicated bike-wash area planned as the next improvement.

The house

Character, comfort and a layout that earns its keep.

Pindari is a genuine country home rather than a polished hotel. Its value is in the generous spaces, the view, the garden and the way a group can actually live here for a few days.

Good to know

An honest country house.

Pindari has personality, history and a few honest quirks. Floors are not perfectly even, mountain nights can be cold without the heating on, and the garden is a real hillside with boulder steps and crushed-rock paths. We would rather set the right expectation—and then let the setting exceed it.

WarmthWood fire, split systems, bedroom heaters and extra blankets.
The hillsideSturdy shoes help. Children should be supervised outdoors.
WildlifeBirdsong, frogs, possums and the occasional insect visitor are part of the place.

The living garden

A hillside that is still becoming.

Paths switch back through boulder terraces beneath the grand English oak to a grassy meadow at the bottom. The garden is the part of Pindari we keep shaping—planting, learning and watching it change through the seasons.

Before you enquire

A few useful answers.

Clear expectations make better stays. You can see a current direct price before contacting us, then receive the confirmed total and terms in writing.

How does a direct booking work?

Choose dates and guest numbers to see the current direct price. You can then send an enquiry, we check the Airbnb, Vrbo and direct-booking calendars, and we confirm the total and terms in writing. Once you accept, payment instructions are sent privately and the dates are blocked across the calendars.

How is the price calculated?

PriceLabs supplies the current nightly rates and minimum-stay rules. The website then adds any configured mandatory charges, such as cleaning, extra guests after four and an agreed pet fee. The result is shown as one direct total rather than revealing compulsory charges later.

Is the website calendar instant?

No. It combines iCal feeds, which can update with a delay. Treat it as a helpful guide rather than a guarantee; we confirm every booking manually before payment.

Why does Pindari work well for two families?

The two queen bedrooms, kitchen, balcony and main living room are upstairs. Downstairs has another bedroom, sofa bed, second bathroom and the games/living zone. Families can gather for meals and the fire, while children have a separate place to play.

Can we bring a dog?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior agreement. Please tell us in the enquiry so the pet terms can be included. Side gates need to stay closed and dogs must be kept under control near the front garden and local wildlife.

Is Pindari suitable for everyone?

The house and garden involve stairs, natural boulder steps, uneven surfaces and a steep hillside. It may not suit guests with limited mobility, and children need supervision outdoors. Tell us about accessibility needs before booking and we will answer honestly.

Is Pindari a luxury property?

It is a comfortable, character-filled country house rather than a new luxury hotel. Expect mountain views, generous spaces, a fireplace, espresso machine, games room, fast Wi-Fi and a remarkable garden—along with the quirks of an older home in a cool mountain climate.
